Qualcomm removes Snapdragon C web browsing and idle-app efficiency results from updated benchmark slide - VideoCardz.com

Qualcomm has updated the benchmark material for its Snapdragon C processor less than a week after publishing detailed performance and power-efficiency results. The revised slide removes two of the seven efficiency comparisons against Intel’s Processor N250.

The removed tests cover idle applications and web browsing. Qualcomm had originally claimed that Snapdragon C offered 39% better efficiency in the idle-app workload and 68% better efficiency during web browsing. The other five results remain unchanged, including claims of 106% better efficiency during Netflix playback and 99% during a Microsoft Teams audio call.

Qualcomm says the change improves clarity

Qualcomm said the revised slide was intended to improve “clarity and relevance.” The company has not provided a technical explanation for why these two results were removed. Both tests were labeled “ABL” in the original material, although Qualcomm has not publicly explained what this abbreviation means.

All performance and efficiency tests were conducted while running on battery power. Qualcomm claimed up to 67% higher CPU performance and up to 2.1x better power efficiency in its original presentation.

Qualcomm used a 16-inch Snapdragon C reference design, while the Intel system has an 11.6-inch display. Qualcomm said total system power for the Intel system was configured to account for a 16-inch screen.

Snapdragon C is targeting entry-level Windows laptops starting around $300, with Acer, ASUS, HP and Lenovo preparing systems.
