Accessibility statement

TechFeed works to make the site usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a practical standard for pages and controls we build and maintain.

This statement describes our approach and known gaps. It is not a claim of formal certification, third-party audit completion, or full conformance across every page and third-party asset.

Measures currently in place on TechFeed include:

• Semantic structure, hierarchical headings, and clear link text
• Keyboard access to primary navigation, including desktop category submenus (focus, Escape, and arrow keys), plus a “Skip to content” shortcut
• Modal patterns for the cookie notice and accessibility options panel (dialog semantics, focus management, Escape to close)
• Meaningful alternative text for key article and feed images; the logo is labeled; decorative backgrounds stay decorative
• Color contrast for normal text aiming at WCAG 1.4.3 AA on the dark theme, with an optional high-contrast display setting
• Reduced motion by default when the system requests it (prefers-reduced-motion), plus an optional in-page control to reduce motion
• External links that open in a new window include rel="noopener noreferrer" and an accessible indication that a new window opens
• Left-to-right (LTR) English interface layout
• A floating accessibility control for larger text, contrast, underlined links, and reduced motion

Some content comes from external sources (for example press rooms and discovery signals) and may appear in the source language. Images, embeds, documents, or other media supplied by third parties may not meet WCAG AA (missing or inaccurate alt text, captions, contrast, or keyboard support). Third-party advertising embeds (Google AdSense, when enabled) are similarly outside full control.

We improve accessibility on an ongoing basis where it is within our control. We do not claim certified or audited full-site conformance.
